SOS ART
is an annual exhibition for regional artists working in themes of peace and social justice. Saad Ghosn conceived of and manages this open project which is well-attended by a wide audience. Held at the Mockbee in downtown Cincinnati, the visual art display fills six galleries, and weekend programming includes music, film, theatre, spoken word arts, discussion groups and lectures.
Jan has participated since the project's inception, the first exhibition opening just weeks after G. W. Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq.

2004 - "American Fuzzy Thinking" A brain made from red, white, blue and grey dryer lint hovers between the rabbit ears of a 1950's vintage television antenna. This tops a cast plaster plant stand that is decoupaged with cautionary texts gathered from the newspapers of the winter of 2004. |
