Artist in Residence Program, Finneytown Local Schools
The Artist in Residence (AIR) Program was created in 1992 by Jan and Gerald Checco to give young artists the chance to work with professional painters and sculptors. Public art installations were created in their own learning environments in large scale with new materials and professional processes

A panel of parents and arts educators selected resident artists through an application/ interview process. Month-long extracurricullar workshops were held on school grounds for student core groups.

Sponsors of AIR included LaRosa's Inc., Finneytown's PTAs, Springfest, Priscilla Gamble, Finneytown Women's Club and the Checco Family.
